I'm shocked that this kind of marketing didn't propel them to the top of the local charts!

When I saw The Lighthouse by Robert Eggers recently, my female companion at the film theatre waited a long time before plumping out the inevitable question: "Were those the real William Defoe or Robert Pattinson actually masturbating? And, er, is that what you guys do when you're a long way away from women?"

I answered "no" for the first one but "uh…" for the second, but I believe I'll just show her this Cheer-Accident commercial if she ever comes wondering again.

    ^ LOVED that film.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

    ^ It's amazing.

Drawing on everything between Aischylos across Poe to Beckett and (my own native) Jon Fosse, it's one of the most impressively captivating motion pictures I saw in recent years. And the ending is the best of all.

Agreed 100%. Also see The Witch by him if you haven't - almost equally as good imo.

^ The VVitch (notice the spelling) was one of the great expressions in film during the 2010s, and I'm not only pointing at so-called "horror". It was gorgeously eschatological (if the devil exists, so does Jahve - but in The VVitch the former wins!). Folks kept complaining that it wasn't a "real" horror film; OMG, not since the holy days of Rosemary's or Exorcist did movies question the strength of cosmic conception! Try Ari Aster's Hereditary too, Frankie - although it's different.

We people are nothing more than what we make of this world.

This is a good band. Y’all should’ve told me earlier.

I think it's amazing that they can make a racket in a park in Chicago for 6 or 8 hours and no one in 'authority' seems to care about it or thinks it's a problem.

Putting off Death and Chicago XX. Both are excellent. Definitely got a This Heat vibe from a couple of tunes.

Wasn't it at some sort of arts festival? I seem to remember hearing that.

Finally got Fear Draws Misfortune (it was delivered today, from Wayside). I just finished listening to the first track, "Sun Dies", and all I can say is: Wow.

Can't wait to hear the rest of this disc.

^ Great one as well. "Drag You Down" has got to be one of the cleverest trickytunes opening a modern rock album that I heard - rarely was simplicity as all-apparent as here. Damn, they're good.

    They're so damn GOOD!!

Even on the "cheap" scrapbook-collections records of theirs there are those total nuggets displaying that utterly brilliant scent of pop instinct, such as Thymme J. attending the taperec with limited technological means during the middle of the night when insomnia keeps him astray.

    DAMN, this is good!
