Doubt that's true. Humanities/literature maybe, creative writing, but not journalism specifically, assuming they even finished college (Dave Marsh didn't; Lester Bangs didn't). The common thread is that they were music lovers/obsessives. But I agree that few if any were music majors.
yeah, it never struck me that most arts writers (whatever art that may include) are "journalists".
And the fact that they call themselves "journalists" is almost a fallacy or impersonation. Howevern, I can see why they got included in the journalist trade unions
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
