Ordered Friday, received yesterday (along with the latest Combat Astronomy). Steve F. and co. must have shipped it before I even put in the order!

Steve's good people! But we already knew that

Ken's good people too, so anyone who hasn't yet snagged this delectable little morsel can also toss a few precious coins in his general direction

Other vendors are forthcoming as well.

Thanks peeps! You are all pretty awesome.

I finally got to the post office and got my copy, it's spinning right now. Where's the lite jazz fugelhorn? I was told there would be fugelhorn!

I actually have a very good, detailed and relevant answer to this inquiry, but first...what's a fugelhorn?

A flugelhorn that has been circumcised I guess. Or just a misfunction of the auto-correct. There is some warbling thingy in track three - I take it there's the lite jazz we were promised.

The flugelhorn ended up totally buried in the stereo mix, but when we release our 18.2 quantum surround mix in the fall, it'll be much more apparent, especially in the left/center, overhead/to the right, and the center/under the right buttcheek speakers...assuming of course, the proper speaker setup/configuration

Of course you release that after we've all bought the regular version.

    So typical.

Hey!!! You think it's easy supporting a "Transformer IMAX 3D on opening night" lifestyle with just one album per customer??!?!!? Goddamned first world entitlement problems

We're trying out a new model; the plan is to release a new version of LoH every six months until Album #4 is ready (ETA is sometime around when Haley's Comet returns, but don't rush us).

John shared a copy of the album with me yesterday and invited me to blog up a review, and here's the end result:

You know what that is? That's a tall cool glass of awesome, that's what

Thanks so much! It's a great little review, already shared it with the boys. And super happy to have helped add to the Cult of Luna fanbase as well

Happy to make your day John!

I've flagged it up on the Prog Magazine Facebook group, which usually generates interest in the blog, and also the Steve Hoffman forum.

Nice review, Valen (John)! Hopefully it will help to bring this excellent release to a larger listening base.

The original version of 'What We Should Have Said' was to feature no actual drums; we have a version where we replaced all the drums with cowbell samples. However, they tended to clash tonally with the other instruments. We then looked at using a woodblock sample instead, which sounded absolutely AMAZEBALLZ but...well, Tim got all whiny about "waah waaah, I want to hear actual drums when I'm playing" and we just kind of gave in.

    No vision whatsoever...

After several listening sessions with this album I'm quite convinced it will be at least a Top 5 contender. Really great stuff!

That is super awesome to hear!

We had our little CD release party last Sunday in Fairfax and it was pretty darn successful. Fun room, solid crowd, and energy was pretty high. Interestingly enough, a friend came out and did some seriously pro-quality video of the show, so at some point we might put together a video or two from a couple of songs.

    Good times all around!
