I was sorry to read that Mr. Haden has been suffering for two years, and is unable to perform.
Here's hoping he is able to recover and resume his career.

Just terrible news - Charlie has suffered a lot in the last decade - - when I saw the Liberation Orchestra at a concert during the Tribeca Jazz Festival a few years ago, Chariie was performing behind a perspex shield - I had assumed that they were recording the show - but his tinnitus had gotten so bad he had to perform that way with earplugs in as it as the only way to get relief from its effects. His sound is so unique we are all poorer for his absence fromthescene. I hope he gets better real soon.
Yeah, saw this news on the Organissimo jazz site.
Sad, sad tidings.I wish Charlie Haden all the best.

Sad news about imo a musical revolutionary. Hope this turns around for him.

Heartbreaking... To me, I have musicians I love (Steve Hackett) and their are musicians I revere as "musical gods". Charlie Haden is on of my musical gods. I've known he had been ill but I didn't realize until this thread that his situation has gotten this much worse. Here's to hoping that he can recover enough to live a pain free remaining life.
