Zohmm - new progressive band from the UK
New Canterbury/ crimson type material from junior: https://soundcloud.com/zohmm
pretty good, i reckon. Compare and contrast with the routinely disappointing albums from Yes since "Magnification".

Nothing particularly new, but it's all well done, and they have a good sense of melody - important for an instrumental band. The guitar lines sound a bit like Zappa or Hatfield+North. Big sound for a 3-piece. Either the guitarist overdubbed bass, or they recorded with a guest bass player, or the keyboardist has a great left hand. The Rhodes and "dark" sound are slightly reminiscent of Guapo, but their music moves much faster - any one tune of theirs probably has as much music in it as a whole Guapo album.
And considering how much dull, by-the-numbers, unenergetic, uninteresting prog is out there, this is worthwhile. The musical craftsmanship is A-1, both in the playing and the compositions. Music doesn't have to be new or innovative to be good, and this is good.
