Piko Cloud Booker - Sanguine Hum content

I went to the launch show by Piko Cloud Booker last night. PCB are a new trio consisting of guitarist Cameron Piko (Montresor), bassist/violinist Gaz Cloud (Cloud & Owl) and drummer Andrew Booker (Peter Banks, no-man, Tim Bowness, Sanguine Hum). Really good instrumental music, very enjoyable. They describe themselves as, "Progressive rock trio mixing King Crimson-esque cyclical guitar patterns, unusual time signatures & the expansive sequencer exploration of Tangerine Dream." They are their own band with their own sound, but you can hear the '80s Crimson influence, although at times I was more reminded of '70s Rush or even UK. You can follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pikocloudbooker/

Support was from Mein Haus, who are Patricia Stepien on violin (and occasional viola) and Elliot Murphy on cello (and occasional acoustic guitar). Also great, with a percussive style of playing, producing punchy, proggy music with cycles of . They joined PCB for an improvised encore, which I had to miss half of to catch the train home.

Opening was a solo set from Andrew's fellow Sanguine Hum member, keyboardist Matt Baber.

Some complete content should be available on the FB page in the coming weeks. Glad the gig was well received!

    Well done, Matt
And the code is a play, a play is a song, a song is a film, a film is a dance...
