Gojira - Magma (for those who like it heavy AND progressive)

Gojira play music as heavy as their namesake, and yet they also have a progressive streak that runs through their music as they try to accomplish something different with each new album.

I’d never heard them until someone recommended the Magma album, comparing parts of it to Porcupine Tree’s Deadwing, which was enough to pique my curiosity.

I was surprised how quickly I took to Magma and I keep coming back to it. Here’s why:

    It is good heavy stuff.
I much prefer L'Enfant Sauvage to Magma though.
The drummer is entertaining to watch and hear.

That should be a good show. I saw both of them within the last year and both sounded great. Opeth did a great mix of their catalog. I was a bit worried they'd only focus on the new album (which is good), but I really liked Damnation and Ghost Reveries.

I wonder if they know any Blue Oyster Cult songs.

Magma is really nice album. I haven't heard anything else by them so far.

Big fan of their music and I like their Death Metal untypical visuals. They are quite engaged for Sea Sheppard. 'In the flesh ' is my favourite

Is that band name still pronounced as "Godzilla"?

I have yet to hear a note, but I'm wearing a t-shirt at this moment featuring the cover of Magma. My wife wanted to get me a Magma (the band) shirt and got me this because it looked cool, not realizing it had nothing to do with the band.

I really only like From Mars To Sirius, but each album has at least one song that I like.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I find this fantastic in ways I probably shouldn't.
