Orkney Islands. Talisker is the only distillery on the magical Isle of Skye. Here ya go, have a little virtual look around the HP distillery, and then go off to see the real beauty of his place (Orkney).

RIP Caol Ila.......this is really like a younger sibling to Lagavulin imo.
Anybody ever own Bunnahabhain 18? I am seriously considering pulling the trigger, which I do not do often at all for 18+'s due to the prices. Its running about $110 US these days. I really love the 12 a lot, so I figure the 18 must be at least 6 better

I had this non-peated Islay malt the other day. I really like it. It still had some "peatiness" to it, it wasn't like a Speyside. But it was comparatively mild on the peaty scale, but still very flavorful. Nice price, I may look for some of this.

Yes, it's similar. There is a heavy peat quality in both. They are similar ABV. They both have a sweet undertone. The PC is a bit more rich with a longer finish, whereas QC is more up front and perhaps slightly more complex.
Both winners. I got hold of some cheap PC a few weeks back and stocked up.

I haven't had that one, but I have had the "Islay Barley 2009". I would like to know how they differ. The IB 2009 is 50% ABV, and has a sweet, toasty cereal smell and taste. It's a little underwhelming on the taste, but the finish is warming, toasty, vanilla, cereal like.

Pulled the trigger on the Bunnahabhain 18....most expensive bottle I've ever bought. $120 w/tax. Fuck it.
She gets poured TONIGHT. Impression and thoughts forthcoming. This juice better not sucketh.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Yes, my recollection was wrong, it Islay allright, but the origin is still not quite clear. Well, its bottled by Ian Macleod distillers, but another distillery is supposedly supplying the whisky. Some says its Tallisker... dunno. Nevertheless... its good.
