We know everything except "Harold Land" and "Yesterday and Today" have been played live at some point. "Harold Land" might have been too quirky and complex to work live, and "Yesterday and Today" didn't have the energy usually desired (besides the difficulties translating acoustic music to a live setting back then.)

It's also possible they're pulling a surprise out of Time And A Word like "The Prophet" (how cool would THAT be? -- and it would be a song Geoff could probably convincingly pull off.)
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

White says in this interview, https://music.allaccess.com/yes-alan-white-yestival/ , that Yes are playing for 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Thanks, Dan. We ended up posting at the same time!

I still can't find the interview with Howe talking of a 90 minute set. Anyone...?

Didn't have drums either, so that one's out.

Heading to Greensboro tomorrow myself.. Like I told a friend today when he asked if he should drive to D.C this weekend to see Roger Waters.. you never know when these guys are going to call it a day.. and the setlist possibilities has me very intrigued..

If it's 29.50 at the Tower theater, I'm in.

I looked for it and can't find it now either. It seems to me it was in the Billboard article, but obviously not there now.

    I know I didn't "imagine it".

If it's 1.45 - 2.00 then I'm good with that. I'll be seeing them in the Seattle area the first weekend of September.

$19.50 seats available for Coney Island show. 4 packs bring the price down to $14.50 per seat. Also 2 free lawn admissions at Holmdel with use of a Ticketscammer voucher; they might have an upgrade for 10 bucks that puts you in front.

Got my ticket for tomorrow night's opener for $15 during a sale Live Nation had in May.

Downes could handle "To Be Over", but "Sound Chaser" would not work well with this lineup, although with a more able-bodied drummer they'd have more of a fighting chance. "Gates" actually doesn't have the most technically demanding keyboard parts, but it's tricky to keep together rhythmically, and this lineup has proven to be hit or miss on many tricky ensemble sections.

I love it when armchair experts claim to know what Geoff can or cannot play

    Please

There is plenty of available evidence, most notably 2 recent live DVDs, to gauge his level of technical ability. There are instances where anyone with an ear for "tightness" in performance can say that something is well-played or is closer to a train wreck. Others, including fanboys and people with less of an ear for this kind of thing (which is separate to musical *taste*), won't notice, or pretend not to.

I like a lot of what Geoff does, but it's always been said that he's no Wakeman, let alone no Moraz, in terms of pure chops. I still like what he does on "Drama" a whole lot more than what Wakeman does on "Tormato" or nearly any subsequent Yes album he's played on, or than what Moraz does on any Moody Blues album he's on.

As a professional musician, I'd like to think I'm a little more than an "armchair expert". You might not have the ears to tell whether something is a musical mess or not, but others do and, as calyx pointed out, there is plenty of evidence on youtube and official live videos that reveals Downes's limitations as a player for certain pieces in the Yes repertoire. That doesn't mean he doesn't do certain things extremely well, but many of the more technical Wakeman parts and certainly the Moraz parts just don't suit his particular style and technique.

    Greensboro report:

Carl Palmer’s band did a brief but very enjoyable set:

    Hoedown
    KE 9 1st impression Part 2
    Knife Edge
    Lucky Man
    Fanfare

    Huzzah!

And +2 to Aymeric's comment above:

Some might say it's condescending to characterize folk the way you did in the above comment, especially when you have no concrete evidence, as calyx and I do, to support your point of view.
