    Caravaggio

This band might appeal to fans of the King Crimson Projekcts.

    Newest record : http://www.qobuz.com/fr-fr/album/tur.../3149028002713
    Older releases : https://caravaggio.bandcamp.com/album/caravaggio

A remarkable synthesis of dark jazz, metal, electronica, improv and contemporary classical (with an obvious Fausto Romitelli influence).

Love the melodies. I find they just stick in my head and I can't help whistling them to myself after one listen.

Never heard of this band before but they have a great name; Caravaggio was a brilliant baroque painter who had bipolar disorder. Here's a link to his most famous painting, The Calling of Saint Matthew:

Several of these guys have interesting résumés in French avant-jazz/prog/etc.

    - Bruno Chevillon was for many years the double bass in the classic Louis Sclavis Band, who recorded several outstanding albums for various labels including ECM; he has also played as a rhythm section with Joey Baron (Zorn/Naked City etc.) in various projects
    - Benjamin De La Fuente wrote a suite which was performed with the band Kafka at one of the Rock In Opposition festivals in France
    - Eric Echampard is a fixture of French jazz, in particular with the formidable Andy Emler MegaOctet ensemble
