I've seen 31 species of warbler in Chester County, PA this season so far. Here's a Chestnut-sided Warbler for y'all...

    Birders

Went on a little boat tour out to Bear Island from Hammocks Beach SP NC. It went down the intracoastal waterway and one of the operators used a very big lens to take these:

Thanks for catching that. I've corrected it. Last year we had five Grosbeak pairs at our feeder at one time. So far this year, I've only seen one pair. I'm hoping that more come our way.

Great shots Firth. I love Osprey! We rent the same cottage every summer and the town that the cottage is in has put platforms on top of the electrical poles so that the Osprey have a solid place to nest without damaging the lines. They come back to the same nesting spots every summer so we always know where to go to look for them.

Around Annapolis is a park called Quiet Waters with many water views of box nests like those. We see geese occupying those nests early in the spring before the ospreys come back.

An example of a goose occupying an Osprey nest near Annapolis:

Saw a fairly large bird coming in the drive. A dead armadillo was in the road, so I bet he was thinking about dinner. It was about the size of a chicken, but I don't think it was a vulture. Maybe a hawk of some kind.

Re: Ooph, I should have paid more attention. I remember it was all dark, brown to black on the bottom. It didn't have an ugly head like I picture most vultures that I've seen. I have seen them in the wild and scavenging roadkill etc. I wasn't paying that close attention as I was coming in from the store, and wanted to get in my drive+ not injuring it. But I saw the dead roadkill armadillo out in the road, and I figured it was hanging around for that meal.

    Yesterday saw a Redstart.
Had to look it up. They are supposed to be common, but a first time for me.

I saw what I believe was a killdeer walking across the street this afternoon.
