King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard

Going to see these guys in a couple weeks. Just recently turned on to the band via a couple youtube vids sent to me by the guy who bought the tix nd invited me to attend. So I know about 5-6 of their songs, and strangely enough, what comes to mind is a a marriage between Caravan and Hawkwind/kraut rock thing. Weird lol. I dunno check em out yourself...they are from Australia and about to do a North America tour.

Lino! Are you trying to link them using the old mobile app? Doesn't work for me either.

I don't know. I click the little film icon there, I place the url there, but that's all I get. Is Duncan still the main fixator 'round these parts?

I removed the "s" from the "https" in the links and that seems to work.

The show was really cool! 90% YOUNG people in attendance. lol Great visuals and cool work over all...so tight...two drummers... great stuff. Recommended for sure. Two bands also from Australia travelling with them. The opener is made up of 4 sisters ...at first I thought meh...but they grew on me and were really cool! The second band was called ORB... meh. But King Gizzard were very cool.

Director Edgar Wright listed "Nonagon Infinity" as one of his 13 favorite albums, which is what got me here.

Had no idea these guys passed through Toronto. Would have gone to see them. I only listened to their last album (available on YT - link posted in the other thread dedicated to this band). I sounds pretty cool.

Was introduced to them by a co-worker, love what I've heard so far and they're videos are hilarious. They're supposed to release 5 albums in 2017 alone, the 2 I've heard so far are really good. Would love to see them live but their Los Angeles date last month was at a festival out in Joshua Tree. I'll definitely go see them when they play closer by.
    ...or you could love

Cool song! My nephew turned me on to these guys last year and they have been growing on me ever since. I am not easy on the Neo Psych scene, but these guys remind me one of my favourites on the genre, the greek Allison.

Released 5 albums in 2017, wowza!

I've listened to many of their albums and went to a show a month or so ago. I wanted to like them, but I think I've given up. Just not my style.

The NPR show "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" had Eddie Izzard on as their guest a while ago, and they quizzed him on King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. There's a transcript of it at:

    https://www.npr.org/2017/06/24/53398...-lizard-wizard

You have to scroll about half-way down the page to get to the King Gizzard quiz part.

I hadn't tried King Gizzard, because for some reason I thought they were a pure retro-rock outfit that wouldn't interest me. I didn't know they were a psych band - I didn't really know much at all about them really.

Anyway, I just discovered their album "Polygondawanaland," supposedly their most "prog," and it's great! Sort of like Ozrics crossed with...I don't know, something else. Check it out. It's on Spotify.

I tried the first album because I heard they were psychadelic, but all I heard was indy rock. I heard the style changes pretty dramatically from album to album though, so I won't give up yet.

These guys put out a new album every 5 minutes and not one album is the same...I mean hell they even put out a thrash album! (which I really like) Fun band that's impossible to keep up with. Some I like and some I don't, but more than enough to dig into.
