It's funny, I liked Magenta at first. Then after the 3rd album I got very bored with them. Now I cant stand them and my Magenta cd's are up for sale. I just find them the most uninspiring, unoriginal, repetitive bunch of Yes/Genesis/Floyd copyists on the planet. Just my opinion of course, does anyone else feel like that?

I feel that way, though admittedly sometimes that's exactly what I wanna listen to

Only heard the first two albums though. They're quite good if overlong. Dunno if the others are worth seeking out. I kinda prefer Glass Hammer for this sort of thing.

    No.

    At least I don't.

Neo-prog is not something that really appeals to me anymore, but Magenta comes up with enjoyable melodies (and actual songs) and that's enough for me sometimes. Their song "Pride" (from Seven), for instance, is like a series of very catchy pop songs strung together -- from a time when a pop song could still have instrumental flourishes.

I can understand that. Sometimes, though, as JAMOOL basically said above, something that sounds like a collaboration between Kate Bush and David Gilmour (for example) hits the spot:

I've been a fan of Rob Reed since Cyan's "Pictures from the Other Side" came out (1994 - I love that album!), so maybe that helps sort of.

Good question, though they've kind of said the same thing before -- before Chameleon and before Metamorphosis. Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing, could be not much of a difference.

They lost me after the third album I believe but I don't hate them, still find the early albums very enjoyable. I haven't paid attention to them in many years so wouldn't know what to expect but if the new album has an epic I'd give it a listen...

Well after seeing the Band perform the new tracks again last night @ Bilston, This Album is going to be immense! cannot wait to get the headphones on and Immerse fully myself into it. The whole performance last night was superb. For those of you going next weekend in London and Southampton you are in for a treat.

Bought We Are Legend from their Bandcamp page. Much to my (pleasant) surprise, the FLAC version is 24 bit hi-res. Very well worth the £7/$9.38 price in my book.

My copy of We Are Legend arrived yesterday. Looking forward to watching the stuff on the DVD.

Well having had WAL for a week and had a chance to listen to it multiple times through headphones, in 5.1, in the car on the way to work, I have to say that it is up there with the best that Magenta have produced. The 26 min Trojan is worth the money on its own, and has in my opinion the best ending section of a Magenta song ever, I can't wait to see & hear the album played live in full hopefully soon.
