EDIT: Just saw on the site linked above that it looks like there will be more US shows this summer (and new albums from both, with Joel playing with Nik! Awesome!).

Nik Turner's Space Ritual Tour runs in the US from October 9th through November 17th in support of the new CD.
Nik Turner was a founding member of Hawkwind during what has been considered their most commercially successful and critically acclaimed period for the band from 1970 to 1976. He wrote/co-wrote some of the group's most popular songs such as “Brainstorm” and “Master Of The Universe”. Hawkwind's 4th and possibly most popular album 'The Space Ritual Alive in Liverpool and London' was recorded in 1972 (released in May 1973). Reaching #9 in the UK album charts and #179 in the Billboard Top 200, the double-record was recorded during the tour to promote the band's 'Doremi Fasol Latido' (third) release. The Space Ritual show attempted to create a full audio-visual experience. The performances featured dancers, lightshow by Liquid Len and poetry recitations by Robert Calvert. Nik Turner recently brought his version of the historic show to the US shores, recreating the magic once again!

An additional show has been added in Brooklyn on Nov.4 in the evening at the same venue as the Sunday show. I'd love to find out the band line up.
Wow...interesting choice to play at the Rythmn Room in Phoenix... I'm seeing Hawkwind on Oct. 20 and will try to make this one although being a weeknight and about 35 miles away might make it difficult. Tempting though....
I approach a lot of these tours as if they may be the last for the artist...

That's a good point and well taken! In general it's usually difficult for many of them to even get to tour and need all the support we can give them. I will seriously consider going, it's just that 5:30am to get up for work is what makes it harder during the week.
Saturday spacerock in Philly! Color me there.
auto-buy these 2 tracks sound fantastic. and i wouldn't miss this tour for anything.
