    UK Ultimate Collectors

Wondering if anyone has a report on the last UK trio gig ( w Bozzio) in the boxed set. I m wondering what the quality is like as I have a soundboard from Feb 79 ' Parisian Rendezvous' which is excellent. It was taken from the Le Pavilion date. The mix is terrific if bit too bass heavy but the drum / bass Improv is stunning and thunderous.

So I ' d be keen to hear how the disc in the boxed set fairs...

For the record, both the date and venue are wrong.
The date was March 13th, that line-up's fourth concert (following 3 British dates and preceding North American touring), and their first-ever French date (of two).
And the venue was Le Stadium (which actually was a converted skating rink, not a stadium at all - the gig was arranged at the last minute, otherwise they'd probably have played a larger venue).

I've only listened to the final show disc once, but real quick - It's about what you would expect from a radio broadcast. Not a great mix, but not terrible (for essentially a boot). Kind of odd - the bass guitar and Taurus pedals seem to be panned left and right. Bozzio's vocal mic is barely audible. He actually did quite a good job, though the vocals don't sound as nice as the obviously doctored up Night After Night.

According to this site with all kinds of UK-boots the OP has another recording (http://www.geocities.jp/johnwettonjp...otleg/main.htm).
The site also mentions the Highland-boot Three Court Musicians: "Paris March 3rd", which is probably the one you're refering to.

The recording in the box is from Nijmegen and for a bootleg it sounds quite nice.
