Sir Nick Faldo at Genesis Open

Just was casually watching and heard Faldo quote "one o'clock and time for lunch. Hum de dum de dum...". Thought, wow, that sounded intentional. Then the references kept coming. Did a search and found this:

    As always, yes.

And, as always, Google is a great resource.

He's a bit more than "a European Golfer", 6 majors, former #1 ranked player in the year, 12th on all-time major wins, most behind Nicholas & Woods since the 60's.

It's not like you won't find any information on Google either.

Not that it should be moved, but from the OP I didn't know if it was a music related thread or not. Or more precisely if Sir Nick Faldo was a musician or not. I thought it must be a stage name.

He made many Genesis drops over the weekend aside from the 1 O'oclock and time for lunch...

    Squeezed in:

    Burning Rope
    Robbery Assault and Battery
    Selling England by the Pound
    Silver Rainbow
    Foxtrot
    Throwing it all Away
    Watcher of the Sky
    Turn it on again
    Invisible Touch

I'm sure there were more... a few weeks ago he dropped an Afterglow reference

that's funny, Titus Will is in Tacoma WA. I've seen that model of Hyndai and wondered if anyone got a specialized plate like that.

Have you ever read the sports pages of a newspaper? Watched a sports report on a newscast? If you have, surely you would have heard the name Nick Faldo.

And just by seeing the Sir attached to his name should have revealed that he is a famous enough person that you should have done a Google search before asking "Who is Nick Faldo?"

I thought the subject line was a string of random words.

That's pretty cool. Way to go Nick!
Maybe this will help improve the pop culture damage done to the Genesis brand ever since American Psycho came out. What's more legit and respected than getting the golf community on board with a little vintage Genesis.

He also worked in "Something tells me I'd better activate my prayer capsule" and "I'd give you all of my dreams if you'd help me find a door that doesn't lead me back again."
