^ That one is a complete killer! I really wish there was a vinyl reissue (or CD, at least) of this, as it's a gas to get hold of 2nd. hand.

I have a CDR rip of that Den Za Den album. I'd definitely get a legit CD if it was ever issued (re-issued?). But I'm not holding my breath at this point.

If he made up an act and just slipped it into a post, would any of us notice?

Dr. Tree from New Zeeland (1976). Second track is a nice take on RtF's Vulcan Worlds.

Why would anyone need to make up an act? Aren't there quite possibly enough real acts out there, perhaps?

Nah, just kidding. I make 'em up all the time, like here: I absolutely LOVE Earth, Wind & Fire, Earth & Fire, Earth, Fire and Ugly Vulva. Now spot the fake one.

Similar to Brand X's Unorthodox Behaviour

well, at least the cover is.

This is more like early Gong with later members of Brand X

and the title could have been Tmiu-Atga

How could I have forgotten Edition Spéciale? Their third LP even has Mireille Bauer on marimba and vibes!

Hard to be sure what might stick, maybe:
    Quiet Sun
    Finnforest
    Mongol (Doppler 444)
    Perigeo
    Goblin (Roller)
    Ragnarok, (1st 3)
    SFF
    Phlox
    Secret Oyster

    I have that

they are a YES clone band
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

and for mine I recommend all 4 so include No Mystery... sure there are a couple of Funk-y pieces, but BX got Funk-y too and the absolute killer Prog tune on there is Celebration Suite

This seems an appropriate thread in which to post this... I'm clearing out the family home that I grew up in, in advance of a sale, as my parents both passed in recent years. I have just found this in a cupboard, a long forgotten gig trophy....

Pierre Moerlen's drum stick caught by me at I guess a late 70's gig and signed afterwards! It would have been when he was leading Gong I reckon. It's kind of stopped my house clearance in it's tracks [emoji1].

A band very rarely mentioned which probably would fit the bill somewhat as well, is Turning Point - Jeff Clyne's venture after he left Gilgamesh.

Some time ago I found a copy of the Vocalion-release "Creatures Of The Night"/"Silent Promise". Very enjoyable.
I also have an obscure boot somewhere from a concert which featured both Turning Point and I.O.U (Live at Karioca Club Cambrige England). I believe Holdsworth played on a couple of tunes (see: http://www.fingerprintsweb.net/ah/press/tp80.html)
