Modern Fusion with the more of Funky variety

Inspired by counterpart threads, I'd posted this one for a modern funky fusion stuff.
I'd like to start with these three tracks from Zerkman Big Bang's only CD that was released in 2010.

In the memory of Belgrade's trumpeter Zoran Erkman (ex-Disciplina kičme, Zerkman Big Bang), RIP.

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Just about any George Duke or Stanley Clarke album.

John Scofield - Still Warm, Blue Matter, Loud Jazz, Uberjam
