    RIP Butch Trucks

The great Allman Brothers drummer has passed away.

Unfortunately 2017 is not looking better...

Sorry to hear it. His input on those first five or six ABs was part of the force.

This is truly tragic news. I'm really saddened. What a huge loss. I'm glad I saw him play.

What were you expecting? That because the calendar changed that people were suddenly going to stop dying?!

I saw the Allman Brothers multiple times in the 90's, and they always put on a great show. RIP Butch

I am glad I got to see him play as part of the mighty Allman Brothers Band rhythm section.

Rest in peace, Butch Trucks. First Jaki, now Butch. And the beat goes off.

RIP Butch. Such an integral part of one of America's greatest live acts.

I was playing ABB early this morning but my wife had a headache and started complaining about "too many notes". I guess I have an excuse to go back and play some more now.

Caught the Brothers in '78 at MSG my first time. Dozen or so times since; easy enough as they'd hit the Beacon every year for a nice long run till they called it a day.

That Fillmore live material is another example of that word 'transcendental'. Brothers And Sisters is also one I listened to a lot when I first got it. RIP.

Totally speechless. Anyone know the cause? I've been an ABB fan since I was 12. RIP Butch. Jam with Duane and Berry.

He was one of those guys you just think would play on forever. I consider myself fortunate to have seen many ABB shows from 1991 on. A consummate musician. This one was a total punch in the gut for me. Almost as bad as losing Chris Squire.

He always seemed to be at home when he was behind his drum kit. Yeah and this came out of left field. There was no word of him being sick or anything and he was still really active in touring.
