    Did it ever go away?

You just have to put a bit more effort into searching, but there is plenty of world class fusion being made all over the world.

These artists all have 2019 releases:

    Sebastiaan Cornelissen
    Richard Hallebeek
    Antoine Fafard
Henry Kaiser, Anthony Pirog, Tracy Silverman, Jeff Sipe, Andy West
    Morglbl
    Nguyen Le Quartet
    Gianfranco Continenza
    Rocco Zifarelli
    Shez Raja
    Alex Sill
    Bernhard Lackner
    Per Mathisen
    Dali Mraz
    On the Raw
    Evgeny Pobozhiy
    Okan Ersan
    Alfredo Dias Gomes

    Just a partial list...

    According to Skullhead it did.

But there's a ton of bands/artists operating in this field, and quite a bit of it is very good too.

There are a few small venues in the Twin Cities area, and for some strange reason, I have seen numerous gigs of progfusion, and left feeling exhilarated! We are typically flyover country here in MN. But getting to see bands like Haken, Scale the summit, Mammoth, Plini, Thank You Scientist, Aristocrats, Bent Knee, Kindo, Tony MacAlpine w/ Gerjo Borlai, has left a good friend and I feeling great about the current music scene of late.

Um, Snarky Puppy and Vulfpeck, just to name two off the top of my head. It is already very much back, and playing to decent sized venues.

Snarky Puppy and perhaps some related projects would be the first thing to come to my mind as well.

That's not the main question. This one rather is: from where will he make his grand re-entrance? Now it was Tübingen. That's in Germany. Then I'll bet he won't be returning from, say, Wiesbaden. But rather from Montevideo. Or perhaps Spokane.

    Or Pripyat.
