Wow. If I didn't recognize Pekka in there, I'd swear this was a joke. Was this really intended as non-comedic musical entertainment?
Having had a Finnish girlfriend, I can see why the Finns think this is funny. They have a pretty unique sense of humor. There is a lot of their comedy on YouTube.
i'm speachless
Greetings,
I'd seen this before, but forgotten about it. Strange, but it's always great to see Pekka.
Cheers,
Alan

He appears to be reading music. Just an axe for hire? His playing is -- as always -- exemplary.
Is that Ohli Ahvenlahti at the keys?
Of course, this is meant as comedy.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
Ahvenlahti actually conducted the orchestra for all the Finnish entries for ESC between 1990 and 1998. He also played for house bands in many light entertainment shows in the 1980s, and as the mild-mannered and henpecked pianist Puppe, accompanied actor Vesa-Matti Loiri's popular chanson singer caricature Jean-Pierre Kusela (I believe the video for ”Naurava kulkuri” has been linked here in the past for more of that ”strange Finnish humour”).
Pohjola is a session player here. He would play an occasional session throughout his career right up to the early 2000s. And while some of those were closer to his own kind of material (e.g. Kalevala, XL, Wolf Larsen, UMO Jazz Orchestra etc.), he also appears on a few recordings that are quite a bit more ”down to earth”.
That was true even during his Wigwam years. For example, the whole band had to back two up and coming Love Records pop singers on their debut albums just to pay off the studio fees accumulated during the making of Being. That included Pembroke writing songs for one of them.
That's right. The other one was Muska "Kirka's sister" Babitzin.
I am sure he is hired.
He plays on a lot of albums

Hopefully no one was really in doubt that that was meant to be humorous!
He wrote the lyrics to “Life is a Jigsaw,” with music by Paroni Paakkunainen, who also plays the crazy-ass sax solo in the middle eight (nice crochet vest, too!):
There’s also this very fab video out there of Wigwam backing a very groovy, sunglasses-wearing Seija Simola, covering a Savage Rose song! This particular video is from the late 60s, and pre-dates their first LP.
