Thread: Synthesizer Gear Porn ;-)

That Surge is interesting. I seem to have it downloaded already. Found some banjo sound, but to short for my taste. Tweeking made it better, but in the end it sounded more like a harpsichord and not like a banjo, if I compare it with my dad's old banjo. I suppose I should tune it and record some notes.

Saw this yesterday at a friend of mine.

She and her husband are not really into music or synthesizers, but her husband has a love for anything technical. Like the Voltage Modular it is partly free and partly paid downloads.

Wow...browsed through the library and there's some really cool stuff in there.

I've always struggled a bit with software-based modular synths; finally starting to accept that my brain is biased toward playing rather than programming! Might be something to try and improve...
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I'm less into playing and perhaps more into programming.

Alas it looks like I can't use it in Cubase, which makes it of not much use.

^Sweet. Which particular doll brand is he using to make those? It would be awesome if he did the same with one of the monster babies from the It's Alive franchise.

    Congratulations, Proud Papa!

The brief video was delightfully bizarre!! I look forward to what you develop with your latest tool, um, child.

Ha ha, no idea...it's definitely not the It's Alive critter but it's not cheap junk either. It's a pretty darn sturdy little doll!

He's definitely got a playdate with some of my FX pedals in the very near future

It's a cool backline, and the trumpet solo at the end was a nice touch

The music itself...it's not that I don't enjoy techno, but this particular music didn't feel like the best example of what that modular setup could likely do. That said, I'm sure it was a fantastically fun live experience

    Thanks for sharing!!
