Yesterday I downloaded the Surrealistic MG-1 plus from Cherry Audio for free. Looking forward to play with it.

I absolutely love that MG-1; it cuts through mixes really, really well. I just used it within the last couple of days to layer on top of another lead and add the "bite" that was missing.
In fact, that particular project (a small corporate thing) ended up using several of my CA synths: the MG-1, Memorymode, Elka-X, Mercury 4 and Mercury 6. It might be the fastest I've done a track where little/no mixing/mastering was needed; the track sounded great even in "raw" form.

I think I need to explore the user manual, because it's quite different from other synthesizers. It has some aspects I don't really understand.
Still looking at the Synthstack package. Comparing prices of single instruments with the complete package. With Arturia it's a done deal with 3 or 4 instruments, with Cherry Audio you need to buy a lot more instruments, to make up for the package deal and then you still miss the Mercury 6.
Sounds like Synthstack isn't the product for you then![]()

Speaking of the Osmose...so for those wondering about the lack of demos and things: it's defectivePretty substantial digital distortion even with various ground lifts and other things.
Even with just power + headphones, sound distorts. Expressive Tech thinks the issue is likely a faulty DSP card.
That's the bad side...the good side is that Expressive E stands by their work and doesn't half-ass. They're shipping me a new unit ASAP; once it arrives and we're all confident that indeed it is working as expected, they'll provide me the info on returning the old one. So...not even slightly mad, I'm honestly really grateful that a small company in the middle of what is probably their biggest product rollout...still made the time to make sure I was good
So big kudos to Expressive E on this one![]()

Will we ever get to hear a sample of the corporate thingy? with the synths listed, it sounds like some good things came out of the track.
That's such a bummer about your Osmose, but good news about their customer support.
I had a similar experience with Dave Smith's Instruments.
I had a PolyEvolver keyboard(bought new), and it sounded wonderful, it was 8 voice and when I'd played it, a couple of the notes would distort as it decayed.
If you played a c note for instance and hit it 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, around 7 and 8 is when it would happened.
Called support and explained, went through a checklist with them that I had checked, and a few they suggested and it wouldn't go away.
They had removable boards in it, so they sent me a new one Priority and I sent the old one back.
Installed the new board and bam, it sounded great...kinda miss that old blue beauty.

I got to demo the Osmose for about 20-30 minutes over the weekend at a friend’s studio. Wow man. It took a minute to get the hang of just how expressive and sensitive it is, but I gotta say I want one.
The pedal steel preset….holy crap!

Yeah, I barely made it past the 'A's in the presets due to the distortion but I can already tell it's got mad potential. And as a controller, yowza...like using it with the GX-80, that polyphonic aftertouch is just gorgeous.

I had an Osmose pre-ordered thru EE (post - kickstarter) and shortly after, Sweetwater started selling them. Well, I canceled the pre-order last week and ordered through Sweetwater. Delivery will be July instead of June. However, I wanted the local support. As good as EE seem to be, there's still the issue of overseas shipping if there's a problem, as John has to deal with. I just feel better knowing I have 2 sources of resolution. And there's that second year of support Sweetwater gives everything. Who knows how well this thing will hold up with all the moving parts?
Oh, forgot to mention the 36 month interest free option. That helps a bit.

Ah, yes. A warehouse is good. A repair shop in the warehouse is better!
On another note, I just ordered this:
Synthesizer Kit with NTS-2 4-channel Oscilloscope and Patch & Tweak with Korg Book
