Oh my! If i wasn’t sold before, I sure am now. What amazing control!. That Vangelis-like tone towards the end was stunning with regards to sound and control.

(And yeah, I can understand that if you had a Voyager, you were not too interested in an imitation. )

Looks/sounds really sweet and it's brilliant the way Moog has packaged this.
I think it's a good deal for $1400 and a good gateway system to modular.
Not quite the same, but if I had that kind of cash I'm in love with the Moog Matriarch and would probably try to round up another $600 for it.

I am always interested in new Moog gear, but OMG, the audio (that tapping sound!!!) and visual style (fast edits, multi-screen, stop-action) of this promo video makes me want to either have an epileptic fit or jump through the nearest window to escape the torture.

At the core it's basically a cutesy bundle of a pair of Moog's Eurorack gadgets plus trinkets and accessories. As a fairly low-cost entry point to Eurorack, it's a pretty awesome deal actually. You get a pair of Eurorack compatible semi-modular synth voices with some basic sequencing abilities and the like.

Years ago I dipped my toes into the world of modular with a dot.com modular, and unless you have a goose that lays the golden egg every day, it can quickly drain your bank account.
By the time you get 2 oscillators, a filter, etc, you can easily go over $2000 without blinking.
Unfortunately, as much as I loved the sound, I'm a bit OCD and all the patch cords sticking out drove me crazy, so I sold it.

Not to veer away from your post, but for anyone interested in modular and want to see if the workflow works for you, I came across Cherry Audio modular system(software).
After seeing a videos about their new OB 8 voice and ARP2600(both which I bought and highly recommend, at the cost it's a no brainer).
I was fascinated by a few video tutorials with the modular, and for $99USD, I got the Nitro version, with over a 100 modules included. You can also buy different modules by different manufactures at a fraction of the hardware equivalent.
Of course nothing beats true analog hardware, but it's a great way of seeing if you like modular patching or not.
The core is free and comes with 20 modules if you'd like to try that.

While there, check out the OB and the 2600. They also have a free download of the Realistic Moog MG-1 which to my ears sounds fantastic.
Cherry Audio was started by a bunch of musicians and developers, and they really have good products at exceptional low costs. Too low to believe, but they don't sound cheap to me.

Wow, I didn't know about the Osmose. I'm in on that for sure. I don't like the feel of the Roli and this thing comes close enough to what I want.
Also, I didn't know the Touche was what they put on the PolyBrute. Still have interest in that as well.
I have a serious space issue and this doesn't help!

Oh, and I'm another proponent for Cherry Audio. Great sound and their instruments are really well designed. AND very inexpensive for what you get.

Bought this blu ray over the weekend and it's a lovely documentary about Suzanne Ciani. Some great historical footage too.

That's wonderful, I agree it sounds nice, and it's great to have the option to grow the modules you want or need.
I'm not one for manuals, my eyes glass over and my head starts spinning, so I just start plugging stuff and see what happens(of course I have a basic understanding of signal flow).
The nice thing they have is you can click on an output and there will be a circle with multiple outlets to use. And the way patch cords go semi transparent is really sweet.
If you check the Cherry Audio channel on YouTube, there are a lot of tutorial videos, including some very good one's on the Modular system.

Ha ha...I'm a total manual reader kind of person, although I definitely am "random access" with my manuals as opposed to cover-to-cover

I'm not the biggest manual reader in the world, but with those modulars (even virtual, op perhaps especially virtual) it kan be handy to know how certain thing work, like polyphony, or how to connect certain things, like the oscilloscope.

Just watched this. Very enjoyable. One question, is it Keith Emerson who's huging Suzanne in one of the final shots (I believe it was a NAMM-event or something like that)?
