Thread: Synthesizer Gear Porn ;-)

Yep! In the meantime, I am still mulling this over:

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ng-synthesizer

At this point with the stretch goals, it's going to be MPE capable AND include a keybed that will handle Polyphonic Aftertouch.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

    Looks really interesting

As tempting as this is...I think in truth it's going to overlap with my Osmose. But it really does look like a fascinating and expressive device!

Some people like to collect shoes, but I would prefer to collect synthesizers. They offer more fun. Alas my wallet doesn't help. But hey, at least there are Arturia softsynths.

That thing sounds awesome. Too bad the $1K keyboard option is no longer available.

Yeah....one of the more intriguing/tempting aspects of the desktop model is that it also includes a ribbon that is playable. Which could make it a fairly interesting self-contained device even when NOT connected to a keyboard. I haven't researched closely enough but if the ribbon is not only position but pressure sensitive, that would be pretty excellent at that price point!

I also agree that it looks like very interesting hardware.

I know, I tend to mix up to and too. There are some English words that always confuse me, not knowing when to use what word.

    LOL
Normally I would have spotted your tiny error, but I would never call attention to it. In this case I did not notice, and only capitalized “too” in order to emphasize my point that I am crazy about collecting synthesizers and feel one can never have enough.

I am always thrilled to have members here that speak other languages as their primary language, and would never point out an error.

    Sorry for the confusion!
Let the playing and collecting continue!

    Bedankt!

I speak Dutch, German and English.

Not really much collecting going on, exept for CDs.

Fantastic! I wish Americans were encouraged to learn more languages.

Collecting CDs is another passion of mine.

I thought the keyboard version also had the ribbon. I guess not. Or is that one of the stretch goals?

Both have a ribbon. The keyboard also has a touchpad, both have some kind of wooden finish.
I've been eying the desktop for a while but missed the 40% discount. Still plenty of 30% off left. Ends 12/14.
They're up to $176k which unlocked the Poly KB. Next goal they'll easily make will include the CV/Gate I/O.
Also eyeing a Sequential Trigon-6 when it comes out as a desktop.

Yeah, I remember the touchpad (very cool) and the ribbon. I spaced. Still many days to go.

I love ribbons! The long ribbon on my Kurzweil 2500 is fantastic. I love th small ribbon on my Korg M3. And the two ribbons on my Roland Handsonic are really useful.

You are a ribbon fan, right John (Battema)?

    John's essentially Ribbony McRibbonster.

now THAT is one hell of a title right there!!

I do love me some alternate controller options like ribbons, touchpads, etc.. The Doepfer ribbon added to my Voyager brought a whole new dimension to playing (the ribbon doesn't just do up/down but also pressure so I can do pitch glides AND introduce vibrato with a single finger).

    What's even better than a killer CS-80 VST? How about a hybrid CS-80 and GX-1? For $60?

Bought so fast my purchase went back in time

WOWSERS, Ribbony! (I LOVE that moniker!) That really looks cool! It almost makes me want to get one of those, what do call it, Com-puters?

Looks great, but I stick with my Arturia.
