Never liked his music, but he had a good voice.

    RIP.

(he was even younger than Prince)

Looks like the 80's are even more letal than the 70's
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

RIP. i'm sure there's more to this then just a heart attack.
this year has been rough with celebrity deaths, especially young ones.

George Michael looked tired and drawn in these final pictures of the singer in September
The singer became increasingly reclusive in the past 12 months

His manager said it was heart failure. The virus he got in 2011 could have weakened his heart while at the same time had apparently smoked a ton of weed and used crack cocaine into 2014. Heavy drug and alcohol use can further weaken a heart to where it just gives out. Alcoholic induced heart failure can reverse over time as long as the person quits drinking or drinks very moderately.

People who have used lots of cocaine gets heart trouble more than others. John Entwhistle died from a heart attack because of that.

He's never gonna dance again. Not a fan but always thought the dude had a killer voice. When I first heard "Father Figure" on the radio I thought it was a new Prince song, I was blown away to discover it was George. Mad respect, rest in peace.

In those pictures his face looks bloated, similar to when someone is prescribed a corticosteroid such as Prednisone which is used to treat many autoimmune related diseases. Maybe it is just normal weight gain, but it kind of looks like steroid bloat to me.

Yes, thought is was much better. He was starting to mature on that album and here's the best song from that one:

    RIP, way too young.

A friend of mine just told me about this. I was never a fan and am not familiar with his material but she apparently was. Anyway, it's still sad when a talented musician(even a pop singer that most prog fans would stick their nose up at)leaves us. I just was never much into dance pop or top forty stuff and therefore never really heard much of his music. Michael Jackson and Prince on the other hand I did grow up with and was a fan(to one degree or another especially Prince). I think the only song I knew by George Michael(off the top of my head)was "wake me up(before you go go" Anyway, RIP.

How did you grow up with Michael Jackson and Prince and not know about George Michael?

It does happen where we are visitors who live in a very similar but slightly different parallel universe to ours. Greetings, Parallel_Man

Michael seemed to have purposely ditched the dance/pop star image by following up the very danceable Faith with Lw/oP, then he just fell off the radar altogether afterwards. I remember his video for I Want Your Sex creating quite a stir (of course its tame by comparison to what came later). Quite a few bitter breakup songs on Faith too, especially Monkey. Kissing A Fool is a minor jazz-pop standard masterpiece IMO.
