I'm surprised no one has mentioned his passing a week ago on December 13. He was 69. Great Canadian actor, songwriter, and game and talk show host. Star of "Growing Pains" and dad of singer Robin Thicke.

I think he was maybe known to a younger generation than most of us in the US. I never watched Growing Pains but knew of it, and don't think I saw him in much except advertisements for it. Never heard of his son either actually.
