Stelvio Cipriani is a lesser known Italian film music composer. He had studied piano and was some time the student of Dave Brubeck. Cipriani started like Morricone composing for Western and scored about 200 films. Not as brillant as il Maestro but a greater part of his scores are interesting and some are excellent. His jazz background often appears in his scores. In 1977 he scored the horror flic 'Un Ombra Nell'Ombra' by director Pier Capri (who had also written the novel) with Claude Simonetti on keyboards. Great "proggish" soundtrack with lots of keyboards, soundwise close to Goblin with the influence of Simonetti, but with a jazzier side and interesting melodic material.
