Lee Jackson vs Greg Lake: Who is the better bassist?

On a side note, I noticed Jackson was a left-handed player. To those who know these things, a question: is he playing the bass strings upside down or are they reconfigured?

The comment about bass strings & rubber bands made me laugh. Jackson's sound was certainly unusual but I warmed to it when I first heard them in my college days & that warmth persists.
