Sharon Jones RIP (of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings)

My wife is a pretty big fan. I would very much recommend the documentary "Miss Sharon Jones" for anyone whose a fan or just wondering. It shows her battle and at 1 point, remission from Pancreatic Cancer. But sadly it returned after the last footage in the film.

Very sad. I had hoped to see her live one day, but I guess that’s not gonna happen now! :'(

I saw her in 2007 and thought she was great. RIP

Will this year stop taking so many musicians already!

She was an incredible talent. I'm happy to have been a fan for many years, and happy that she found some success as an artist (though she deserved more success, IMO). Great band, too, if anyone here has never heard the Dap Kings! Condolences to her family and friends.

I hate that fucking disease, it is so unremittingly awful and unforgiving. RIP Sharon, I really enjoyed your voice and music.

Just heard this on NPR. Sad news. I've seen her on tv and thought she was a great singer. RIP.

I was just listening to a Terry Gross interview with her today, and enjoyed listening to it and her music. I didn't know of her previously. She said she'd been influenced by James Brown, and other soul. RIP

When I saw her it was right after James Brown died, so she did a James Brown cover and dedicated it to him.
