Watched about 1/2 of a live concert on YT, I think from 72. Guy was great! And so was his assistant guitarist.
During my "folkie" period in the 60s, I probably sang more Lightfoot covers than Dylan & Ochs combined (writing was never my forte), and he remains my favorite folk artist ever. "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" still gives me chills every time I hear it, and I'm not even Canadian.

I always liked Burton Cummings imitation of Gordon Lightfoot covering "Maggie May". According to Burton, Gordon and his manager saw Burton in a club on a solo tour and Burton did the bit. Gordon said, "I don't sound anything like that" and his manager said, "Gordon, you sound EXACTLY like that!"
