    Leonard Cohen RIP

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...r_breakingnews

Damn sad, love his music, seeing him live in the 80's was a highlight. Remember hearing him for the first time in college at a party, New Skin For The Old Ceremony, immediately grabbed the album & taped it.

Wow, I was just reading a profile of him about a month ago and he was hinting that he didn't think he'd live much longer. What a life, what a body of work.

    Jesus, 2016 really truly sucks!

[Edit] found the article. It's a fascinating piece

    Very sad.

Now he can be reunited with Marianne.

Somehow I've never (consciously) heard a note of his music, so I just ordered New Skin.

"Closing Time" from the one time I saw him, 4 years ago in Brooklyn.

He played for 3 hours, no breaks. Rest In Peace.

Wow, very sad. His album Songs of Leonard Cohen is one my wife listens to all the time when cooking. Sad now that he's gone, but it's a timeless album.

I just heard this. Sad news. I've always liked the song "everybody knows" which was featured at the end of the movie "Pump up the volume." Yes, I know it's not his most well known but for me it's one of the ones I know him by. RIP.

I'm Your Man is the one for me, a brilliant album.

This one isn't such a surprise to me- he gave an interview recently where he made some fairly ominous comments.

Sad news indeed. Heard it this morning when I woke up. One of those artists I know mostly by other musicians I like.

One of the best live shows that I got to see, pure magic.
Now he rests with Hank Williams in the tower of song...

I was never a fan of his 80s material, but I absolutely adore some of his early stuff, like his debut and espec Songs of Love & Hate.

I've got a couple of his lyric anthologies lying around as well, and I suppose it's time to fetch them. He was great with poetic word - often.

What a tragically sad start to this day, this week, this month, this year, the world just keeps on taking from us.

His early work especially is just sublime, poetic, heart-wrenching and beautiful. I haven't heard the latest album yet.

RIP to the second greatest Leonard in my life, the first being my dearly departed Dad.
