Dream Theater - s/t - OK, will be picking it up today on the way home from work. Being a die hard fan, it's rare I don't own one of theirs the day it's released. A whole day late, shame on me!

Ok, I'm spinning the new DT right now. Totally digging this! Still the first time through, really far too early to form opinions. I will say this, you can hear John Myung's bass LOUD and CLEAR on much of this! Seems he was given a bit more room on this disc, which is very cool. Another thing about this, I'm liking the vocal melodies a lot. I think that was a minor weakness on the last album. This time the vocal melodies seem less predictable. Again, all this on less than a full spin, so who knows how I'll feel about this album a week from now.

Also picked up the new one from Thought Chamber. Seems the Enchant keyboardist is involved too, Bill Jenkins.

Couldn't leave Mike Portnoy out in the cold, so I got Winery Dogs.

And finally, got the Arch/Matheos disc form a few years back.

Oh wait, also finally got Bruford's "One of a Kind" in the mail today. Supposed to be a fusion classic, we shall see if it lives up to the hype. Hard to argue with the Bruford, Holdsworth, Stewart, Berlin lineup. Speaking of Stewart, guess one of these years I'll finally pick up an Egg album, I really should.

Let us know what you think of it, Thomas! One of my all time faves! I consider it as "prog/fusion," fwiw. As with Kenso (who you are familiar with), there's more writing and arranging than is typical for a fusion album. I liked it right away, but the more I listened, the more it grew on me. Hope you have a similar experience!

Nostalgia 77 Sessions - Keith & Julie Tippetts

Discovered this album on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHsdAmLiuIw

A great recording, excellent material, and inspired performances. But you gotta be a
jazz lover. And not the kind who considers Morglbl, jazz.

How do you like the Chrome Hoof & Hamster Theater? I find the CH a additive guilty pleasure bounce along album.
