I bought the vinyl of "Straight To The Krankenhaus" back in 1977 and replaced it with the CD about 10 years or so ago. I didn't realize that they released a CD last year. How do they sound 42 years on from that very fine album "Straight"?Originally Posted by markwoll

Yeah, I have great hopes. Straight to the Krankenhaus is one of my favorite albums of all time. And now I have to search for the 1st one I guess.

Secret Oysters first album is quite different, much more jazzy.
It has Mads Vinding on bass (jazz & Jazz fusion guy, here a great track with Tony Williams) and rock drummer from Burning Red Ivanhoe, both was replaced on the next album Sea Son.
I prefer this album, but never saw them live in this formation.

The Arc-Light Sessions: The Unintended Consequence of Memory
I try to keep real negative opinions to myself since we're dealing with personal taste - but what did I just listen to? Right from the beginning it sounds as if someone did a multi track recording and then sort of moved each track a little bit this way or that - off by a tiny bit so that it doesn't quite sync-up. Then the vocals kick in and I'm like "no". I sat there and listened to the whole thing just to be fair and I think that tasked my fairness. To anyone who likes it, dog-bless. Not for me. This is what happens when I have Progarchives new releases in my Feedly as a way to be introduced to stuff.
