Well, I guess I just wanted to complete my official Doors-LP collection. These aren't the best works they made for me either ("Strange Days" is my fav.), but it contains some interesting "other voices". Speaking of other voices: I liked the first Nite City better than these two.

I love Mwandishi and Crossings, but Fat Albert is a little too "boogaloo" for my tastes. But it does have this tune, which I've always loved:

BTW, a live Herbie Hancock Sextet album was just released recently. Haven't heard it, but I'd like to!

(edit) Sorry, it's the Septet; not sure who was added, but same band and material.

After one listen, i dig Fat Albert Rotunda. The boogaloo is just fine with me.

That live Septet cd looks tempting, but if it's a bootleg i'll let it pass.Makes you wonder what live Septet Herbie tapes(if any) are in a vault at Warner Bros/Columbia.I'd love to hear that band live and well recorded.

Love that Herbie compilation, Walt. Got it via a record club back when it was released. Boogaloo suits me too!

Not their best, but I'm a completist and it has some good stuff between the mediocre. The title-track is great.

Bought two albums by Thomas Dimuzio and Chris Cutler, directly from Tom himself, while I was in NYC on Tuesday. One is called Dust, the other is called Quake. I've only listened to Dust so far, kinda reminds me of the stuff Cutler did with Fred Frith in their improv duo format. Pretty good music.

Regina Carter "Southern Comfort". A friend saw her in concert recently and really liked what he heard and passed it on to me to see if I liked it. I did.
