Bando- s/t Great Afroprogressive band from Puerto Rico formed by veterans of the Puerto Rican progressive rock scene, led by Agustin Criollo (Astrid Proll) and Gaby Vidal (Ongo) among others. This is their debut album. Stunning production, a fusion of African rythms, funk, salsa, latin rock, and latin jazz with progressive and adventurous arrangements. Very addictive record. Recommended. Both good, but quite different from "Swim". They don't have the large volume of guests on strings and horns here, and consequently don't have the same post-rock/chamber sound. More jazzy, but also with a little bit of folk/Americana vibe, I think, at least on "Homing Patterns".

Just visited Montreal's excellent Freeson Rock (sixth time in seven years!) and came away with the following:

Lonely Robot - Please Come Home
Grand Tour - Heavy On The Beach
    Brand X - Missing Period
    Karmakanic - Entering The Spectra
    Camel - Rajaz
    Arachnoid - Arachnoid
Mike Rutherford - Smallcreep's Day (probable bootleg copy - more on that in the SCD thread)

... such a fantastic store. Every time I go, I have to resist the urge to go crazy and spend $500.

Kenso - eh, screw the title, my skills with the Japanese language are non existent. It's their latest... and it hasn't really clicked with me yet, save for a couple of tracks, sorry to say.

I think my next purchase (thank God work is staring to really pick up) will be:
Snarky Puppy - We Like it Here
