    Strictly Inc - self-titled

Arrived on Thursday, listening today for the first time.

The final track, "An Island In the Darkness" by itself justifies the purchases. Brilliant epic, just like vintage Genesis.

    Discogs.

Both Amazon and Discogs had copies available from various sellers, with a wide range in price. I could have paid over $100 for a mint sopy. Going for one of the cheaper ones was a calculated risk, but it seems to have paid off.

Posted this in my LA music thread but thought I should put it here as well.

Back from our trip to southern California. Great time and awesome weather! Sucks that there is still snow on the ground here. I guess that's why they call it the 'great white north' . Anyway, for those who care, I thought I would post my music purchases. Had a great time browsing the shops. Visited Amoleba, CD Trader, Freakbeat, SecondSpin (both locales), Rockaway Records, Bagatelle Records and Factory Records. Here it is (a mixture of new and used):

    Pathosray - Pathosray
    Pathosray - Sunless Skies
    Chicago - V, VI, VII
    Roxy Music - Stranded
    Kaipa - Vittjar
    Classix Nouveaux - Best Of
Yes - Going For the One
Orpahned Land - All Is One
The Reasoning - Adventures in Neverland
Spheric Universe Experience - The New Eve
Happy the Man - The Muse Awakens
    Clive Nolan - Alchemy
    Gentle Giant - Free Hand
    Devin Townsend Project - Deconstruction
Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition
    UK - Danger Money
    Sieges Even - Steps
Threshold - Extinct Intinct (special edition)
    Phideaux - Ghost Story, Chupacabras
Big Big Train - Goodbye to the Age of Steam, Far Skies Deep Time
    Depeche Mode - Delta Machine
    ELO - II
Nektar - The Dream Nebula, A Tab in the Ocean
The Flower Kings - Unfold the Future
    Amplifier - Echo Strfeet
    Circa - HQ
    King Crimson - Islands
    James Labrie - Impermanent Resonance
    Glass Hammer - Shadowlands
Hawkwind - In Search Of Space
    Black Mountain - Black Mountain
Uriah Heep - Wake the Sleeper
Supertramp - Brother Where You Bound
Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman Descension
    Donald Fagan - Sunken Condos
    Amorphis - Circle
Satellite - Special Edition - Evening Games and Nostalgia

    Regards,
    Jon

Thanks, Bob. I only knew of that album from posts at PE and that "Island in the Darkness" track is definitely a lost Tony Banks gem!

There was a thread about it when it first came out, but not much discussion after purchasers lived with it for a while. Though it certainly has Fagen's stamp all over it, there's things that are pretty different about it. It's funkier and more dense than his usual stuff for starters. I dig it!

Yeah, i like it a lot too. Worth the price of admission for the melancholic and beautiful Miss Marlene alone :P
