Pretty sure you'll dig this one then. It would be the 'Underneath The Pines' era of Toro y Moi, chill and jazzy. Someone posted a clip of it on the High Llamas facebook page and I bought it right away. Mild High Club have a couple others out too which I haven't heard.Dude… Steely Dan and Toro y Moi are two of my most favorite bands/artists ever. And I like what I’ve heard by the High Llamas too.
Gonna have to check that one out.
Sweet! Underneath the Pine is a great record. My fave by TyM is Anything in Return, but I own all of his albums (on CD and vinyl), and they're all good.
Anyway, you've sold me on this Mild High Club disc. I'm gonna check it out today.
Edit: Just listened to the whole thing, and immediately went and ordered the LP from Bandcamp. This is top-notch stuff.
Bill, have you heard Benny Sings before? His album City Pop is really nice. I get a little bit of a Todd Rundgren vibe from it on some tracks. Lots of piano-led pop tunes, well-crafted too. There are other influences, but I'm struggling to place them right now (maybe a bit of Toro y Moi, now that I think about it). Was a very pleasant surprise for me.

Benny Sings (real name: Tim van Berkestijn) is one of those Dutch acts who are Big In Japan, but hardly listened to in The Netherlands itself. I bought his last two albums for my wife and indeed the Steely Dan-vibe is there, but I also hear Michael Franks-stuff in it.
