The first time I saw Cardiacs live. I was tripping my balls off, having taken a couple of tabs of rather stronger than expected acid around half an hour before they came on stage. The first half of the gig was too confusing to follow as a result, the second half was utterly joyful. This is just past halfway through the set.

Well, if I must be at work on my 60th birthday, at least the weather's crappy outside and it's casual Friday, so I can let my Cardiacs flag fly!

If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

That's crazy and awesome! I have never heard "The Bitter Pill" before - this is (of course) fantastic. Was this ever recorded or only played live? Never even heard of it...

As far as I know it was only ever played live, but it may be on one of the lost demo tapes.

Anyone here know the lyrics to Gen?

The lyrics online don't seem to be quite right — e.g. just before the first chorus it says "F**k off my least is more", but it really doesn't sound like that's what Tim's saying, it sounds like there's a couple more words afterwards.

Can anyone provide some clarity on this? It's easily my favourite Cardiacs tune and it's annoying that I can't sing along properly

Wayside has their albums at very reasonable prices. The music is so good that they are worth 10x the asking price. Life's too short not to listen to Cardiacs.

They're also on Spotify now, if you've got that.

As you are in the most ununited of kingdoms, it behooves you to know that most of the back catalogue is once again reasonably obtainable for your considered consumption from the mysterious and most glorious of merchants, THE ALPHABET BUSINESS CONCERN.

Blasting some On Land and In The Sea on the headphones this morning for the second time in a row. This stuff never gets old really.

Think I'll queue up Ships and Irons next.

New Cardiacs cover from the 180G's. I love their Cardiacs covers. It highlights the original genius without just copying it.

    WOW.

In the comments they were asked why they chose this song - apparently they didn't - it was a set assignment by their professor, Claudio Bazán. So of course, I looked and we can expect some more....

I'll just leave this here . WHAT a tune. This one is made for headphones and making your ears bleed (in the good way).

Spun some of Guns today while driving to Starbucks for my morning latte.

Come Back Clammy Lammy, what a killer song.
