I was hooked from the first song. Not in the sense that I knew I would love it, but that it was so different from anything I'd previously heard that I had to check it out further.
Hi & welcome anant! The more Cardiologists, the better. Never heard “Vermin Mangle”, thanks for posting that! Will be checking out that channel…
The bass needs to be cranked up in either case!
It’s funny how perceptions differ, though; take HB&EB, for instance.
The 1995 reissue was allegedly remastered and a few people have complained about its sound (too harsh, too muddy, too whatever). I recently compared it to the original 1991 version and found that the reissue is merely louder, i.e. the mix & the EQ are the same. In other word: If you turn down the ’95 “remaster”, it’s the same as the original version!
But then I might have shit for ears. I do have tinnitus, mind.

Cool channel, anant!
Holy diver! The live version of "Ideal" blows the already great studio version out of the Thames! This is almost like Big Generator Yes, but on good, good aceed...

^ Actually, it's not *quite* finished. Sorry for shaking things up. I was played a mix of it just before I posted that...there's still a few things to be done.
As you were.
Thanks for the update, Kavus! Greatly appreciated.

I'm hugely psyched at the thought of a new Sea Nymphs cd, esp knowing how great the few unreleased songs i've heard are
^from the 1998 Peel session.

This is great! I hadn't heard this ep yet, I heard Day is Gone but not the other tunes. I've since rectified that. The original is great, but the added speed and intensity make this very giddy making fun. Been listening to it non stop. Thanks for post!
Better than Big Generator Yes, btw...

Round this time of year, Mr & Mrs Smith and Mr Drake gets a lot of airplay in my house. I like the creepy dark feel of it mixed in as it is with a ray of hope, but not too much hope.
How is it possible to have 8-10 melodies going all at once in my head!??! I dont even know which songs they're coming from at this point... I'm going mad!
Mine too. I don't think they/Tim ever did anything quite like this album again. Even the Sea Nymphs record sounds quite different. Less Incredible String Band-ish perhaps. Dergo is such a haunting piece of work, reminds me of some of the choral early music that i've heard.
This time of year is great for the first NSRO album too, especially if there's snow on the ground.
I guess if there is a "anthem" type song for me - Fiery Gun Hand is it.
Yea, The Sea Nymphs album is much lighter in mood.
