This makes Tim sound as if he should have a much bigger nose, an ugly mustache, a constantly sarcastic expression, and play an SG. Which isn't a comparison I would usually make.

There has been an update by Mary on Tims rehab status posted on FB.
Probably not everyone has seen that so here goes:

UPDATED STORY, SATURDAY 6TH JULY, 2019
There is a saying (probably): when you need to make omelettes, life has a way of breaking your eggs. This is certainly the case for Tim, as has been proven time and time again during his eleven-year period of duress.
When the original statement for this JustGiving page was written, all of it was completely true…However, trying and testing circumstances have now changed it into the most barefaced and egregious of lies, which is not OUR fault. The time has come to update the information here before we all get found out and humiliated in front of our peers.
Bluntly, things did not work out as had been hoped with Tim’s previous abode. The promised improvements and miracle therapies were not forthcoming. In fact, as time went on, it became evident that even the most basic physiotherapy was to be denied him there, so our team brought in outside help and paid for it with your loving offerings. Thank you. It made an enormous difference to his physical and emotional well-being.
We assembled a goodly collection of therapists, rolled up our sleeves, and started work. Meanwhile, the shambles at Tim’s rehab unit went from bad to worse. It became unsafe there. This did not go unnoticed by the authorities, and, in response to several anonymous tip-offs, an emergency council investigation resulted in the closure of his unit in late spring and all the residents being shipped out with only a few days’ notice.
It was an anxious and frantic time, but things have worked out far, far better than we could have hoped. Tim is now in a new facility, receiving top notch treatment from a multidisciplinary team with links to a specialist university unit. It’s early days, but the therapists there have said they are tremendously encouraged by his response to their ministrations so far. They made incredible promises for a brighter future but we’d heard all this before and wanted to feel fully confident that they would all come to fruition before we announced the news to you. We have seen it with our eyes!
Your donations are currently funding extremely important extras, nay, necessities, which at the present time are sadly not available from our poor benighted NHS. So far, these have included modifications to Tim’s electronic wheelchair, postural aids, and specialised transport. Future plans for spending the donations involve new communication aids, adapted musical equipment, and (perhaps most importantly of all) modifications to Tim’s own home and recording studio, and the purchase of all the paraphernalia that will mean that he can return there to live full time. This has been a fondly-held dream, for so long now, which is at last on the cusp of becoming a fondly-held reality.

With much love and heartfelt thanks from everyone on Team Tim.

A tasty bit o' Breakfast is included on this nice capture from the weekend's amazing festivities. I'm still on a cloud a week later from the overwhelming joy that is the Pond.

What a great segue! Glad the convention was great - give us some more tidbits about the weekend when you have a chance - merci.

Saturday had the majority of bands playing - Lost Crowns, Blue Apple Boy, Gong, etc... Lost Crowns was the big one for me - RIO sounds - and even better live than on record. Most excellent. A good chunk of Pondies made it - met a good dozen or more people this time too. Steven Payne who directed Mare's Nest was taking videos of people leaving Timmy a message - later he took pics of a bunch of us individually with super nice lighting. We've all been using those pics on FB for our profiles. haha. Sunday was awesome - Arch Garrison and Crayola Lectern (Bob Leith & Jon Poole playing together was killer). Interviews - the best part of Sunday - first up Kavus interviewed - then Kavus interviewing Jon - then Mark Cawthra interviewing HIM. Tim had a hard rule that Kavus and Jon were forbidden to be in a band together - good idea since those two were hilarious together in the interview - singing old songs they made up on tours - had the whole place joining in - making Tim laugh - just so funny and nuts. Jon is a maniac. Standing ovation for Jim. A man of few words but he did chat a bit - I cant recall all the things he said since it was all a bit cryptic. lol. Raffle for a teapot with Jim's face on it. Pretty cool. Attachment 13217

Oh...I asked Jim - why is it I hardly see your hands moving when playing these insane songs?? Jim - "Because they werent moving." Ok then... mystery solved! I finally got to see Dominic play - man - he's awesome. Super nice guy too - My other fun time was talking to Tim Quy - lovely chap and loaded with fun stories - we talked a lot about percussion. He's had cancer treatments and looks a bit haggered... but he was in good spirits - nice to see. Bob Drake was hovering around both days with hardly anyone bugging him - almost like nobody knows who he is - but I made sure to harass him as much as possible - always so nice and humble and every year now I see him I love to pick at his brain about just about everything.

tee hee..."almost like" Remember I'm also very new to that whole scene, when I played there at the previous one I think most people hadn't heard of me yet. But also don't mistake my naturally solitary nature with anything being amiss...just sit with me in a calm, quiet place and the digressions shall flow unimpeded!

Well, half of the women in the UK are called Sarah so maybe we have to temper our enthousiasm. Facebook message just said Sarah. No info which Sarah.

Is it just me, or is the version of Gina Lollabridgida from Special Garage Concerts absolutely phenomenal?

I probably got the spelling wrong on that track...
