Ha - shows what I know, right? I had always assumed that these videos were in preparation for the 2003 Autumn gigs, but they are actually 2 years later. Well, thanks for the clarification Sterbus. I'll go crawl back into my hole now and listen to Future Days for the 300th million time this week

BTW, were you the 2005 Bull and Gate show(s)?
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

    Fair point!

I'm still on the fence about this; Mare's Nest wouldn't play in my blu ray player which is my main source to watch DVDs. (not a big fan of watching on a computer - guess I'm old school ...)

Isn't there a way to encode DVDs so they can be watched on either NTSC or PAL? (Think the Henry Cow DVD and most of SWs remixes are encoded this way ... )

If I were a TRUE fan I'd just buy a region free blu ray player!

    Sounds like a beautiful night!

Sadly not Chalkpie! I had my Revelation only in late 2006, and I've been able to see them live just one time, London Astoria nov 16th 2007... Yes, a TEN years anniversary is very near! But what an enormous happy night that was!
I also had the chance to talk and have photos with Kavus, Jim and TIM after the concert!
I told him that I just flew there from Rome that vera same day and I was going to come back the day after just to see them, and he gave me a big hug!

Yes, the HBAEB vinyl do contains a download code
(Bought it at the last convention)

Thanks for the info. That's great to hear!

Incidentally, have you listened to it yet? And if so, what were your thoughts?

    Not yet... I don't even know if it's the 92 or the 95 mix/master...

I would love to get a nice CD copy of the first mix Tim Haillay gave me - slightly less treble - and we know how much Tim loves that sound on the high end. Sterby... wonder why 'Gloomy News' isnt on the DVD???! Know anything about that?

Talking about hugs... nobody delivers a hug like Kavus - The Grand Master of Hugs... holy moly... feeling welcome in the pub before Knifeworld - I was soooo fucking happy. Happiest I've been in a long time.

Just had an email from Mary saying the DVDs have been despatched ... hopefully i'll have it today or tomorrow then. Will feedback on my thoughts (although there's little doubt it will be brilliant) as soon as i watch it.

    Got mine this morning.
[look away now for spoilers etc]

It's better than any of you could hope for.

Lots of nice new inter-band bits and tunes and that, but i spent most of my first viewing marvelling at Bob's shit-hot drumming.

I've watched this version of Hello Mr Minnow several times. Totally "in the pocket" as some might say. Storming.

Kavus gets his own fireside monologue about Winston Churchill.

Best of all you get to see the fucking dog.

It was Bob's drumming that first caught my eye too ... what a player!

As for the rest it's funny, strange (Jim trying to plug his bass in ... for two minutes!!!) and needless to say brilliant.

    Definitely worth the wait.

Icky Qualms is absolutely blazing on this sucker. My favorite version by far now.

It’s great! Cardiacs are inside the shed. Cables are all over the place. They make a racket. When they finish a “song”, they quarrel with each other. Then they stare at the floor and no one says a word for a long time.

Jim doesn’t smoke. Someone else does, but he doesn’t go outside to smoke. The rest of the band has to stay inside while he smokes. When he’s done, he knocks over the ashtray on purpose. Its vile, rank contents are spilled all over the floor of the shed. This happens again and again.

Everyone in Cardiacs gets angry and leaves the shed at some point, except Jim. They always return, though, because where should they go? It’s raining outside, no one has a car and the next bus stop is hundreds of miles from the shed. The only good moment is when Jim plays a “bass solo” right after “Icky Qualms”.

I found this bit of garbage in my mailbox when I came back from holiday. Watch it one time and it is complete shit.
Will watch it again and again the next coming weeks just to punish myself.

My copy of the DVD arrived earlier this week, I just need to carve out some time to watch it uninterrupted. That's not a problem normally with cd's but DVDs a different matter!
