There was a thread on this not too long ago, but it seems to have fallen to an older page.

There's also an "unboxing" video from the band's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pinkfloyd/v...3872539037308/
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I'm down for a copy. Too much a PF nut to pass. But yeah, that's an EXTREMELY expensive price and I can't fault anyone who is taking a pass as a result.

I'd really love to get this but I'm still catching up on Crimson and that comes first for me.

No kidding. $570 on Amazon. Ouch. Wonder what kind of audio quality were talking for the live stuff. Would have liked to see the entire '72 Brighton show get released.

I got mine from Burning Shed...it was less than $500 including shipping. I think Amazon.co.uk was also pretty reasonable (relatively speaking of course).

I'm going for a couple of the indie discs. This is just too much for the set.

Well, if they want to sell loads of this material, they're going to have sell these things separately, because not enough people will be ready to fork out +/- 500.00 whatever for the boxsets...

There is potential to sell hundreds of thousands of each of these CDs/DVDs separately, so they'd be pretty stupid not to do it the following year.

Just a matter of patience, really!!!

Well...seeing as they already announced that all the sets, save for one bonus set that will be exclusive to the box, will be released individually in 2017, I'd say it's not really THAT much of a matter of patience. That was the official plan from the get-go.

Not tempting at all, & I'm a Floyd fanatic from the 1st moment I heard UMMAGUMMA. More important things in my life: family, home, health, other pursuits. You get the idea. But I heard some things on that Facebook video that I've never heard before, & I thought I heard it all. One that comes to mind is the ending of "Echoes" that comes at the end of the video. Maybe I'll check out the individual releases next year. Maybe Roger will release the new album he's spoken about for a few years now...

Just noticed Burning Shed's announcement that this box now includes a 'free' Live At Pompeii CD. So that's another little bonus, since the only audio version that I know of is a poor-sounding Japanese boot.

Still can't justify the price on this one though! Probably grab the 2-CD set just to see how some of it sounds...

I got my shipping notice from Burning Shed today. Assuming it stays on schedule (which it almost definitely will), I'd better clear some time on my calendar early next week...

How did they make it 'poor sounding', they should have just taken it from the VHS or DVD!

It's been speculated that the Pompeii show has been included to pad out the latter part of the box...some 5.1 mixes were hastily pulled (Meddle/OBC) and little replaced them.

That is what they did, as far as I know. It just doesn't sound great.

    Huge Pink Floyd fan atic
watching that unboxing with Andy and Nick and now I definitely need to have this box somehow
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I'll wait for the separate chapters next year (this could mean 2018), so I can be a bit more choosy about what I buy.

And maybe if you do, you'll be able to get the ones edited from Waters' presence , since you hate him so much

Actually, this opening of the box turned me off... There at least 50% of "junk" I don't need (the singles, memorabilia and the BR)
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
