Shine on, you crazy Catalonian

Federico Mompou (1893 – 1987) was a Catalan Spanish composer who wrote the following piece whose theme remarkably resembles the theme of Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond

I'm not suggesting that Pink Floyd's David Gilmour ripped off Mompou for his composition, but the similar desolate mood of both pieces made me wonder what a nylon-string version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond would sound like. I especially like the spaces between the notes in the Mompou piece and I think the Floyd song would work really well in a similar arrangement. Have any guitar-slingers out there attempted such a thing?
