Isn't it nice to see Apple Corps and the representatives of the late Sid Bernstein working together to make sure the Beatles' archives are made fully available for the public's entertainment.
Just dialed this up on the DVR after it aired on the local PBS last weekend. Some thoughts:
1) The film does an excellent job of showing the sheer joy and confidence the lads had in those first three or so years. The live footage and interviews are priceless.
2) It's astounding just how good a live band they were, considering the lack of technology at the time, especially in all of those stadiums and arenas.
3) F**k Mark David Chapman, and F**k cancer.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
I watched it the other day and was really disappointed that Ron Howard decided to use colorized footage. It was blatant and totally unnecessary. Other than that, it was very good.
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
I thought it was redundant. The Anthology covers everything.
There were some topics in Eight Days a Week that I don't recall being covered by The Anthology, such as The Beatles refusing to play to segregated audiences.
