I am grateful that the Fed is not able to stop supplements. Only a fool would trust them in the current environment to do the right thing for people. Its fracked up beyond their ability to control. I'll control what goes into my body, thank you, Mister Fed...

My wife has been taking Kratom for the past 3 or 4 years. It has been an absolute godsend to her. Every few months they threaten to regulate it (meaning outlawing it) and so we have several pounds of it locked up for that inevitable day. It is a wonderful product, that most people would never take for recreational use - its basically like eating horse-poo. Its effect is fairly mild, you cant OD because you just throw it up. But for a fibromyalgia sufferer, this has been the most effective treatment we have tried, opioids excepted. We do not have access to MJ and in Texas you really dont want to get locked up - for anything. Orin Hatch helped stop the FDA from destroying Kratom's use. You can hate him for his politics, but he did our family a solid there and credit is due. Those of you who think the government is always going to act in the best interest of you... well, I just dont see it as the godsend that you do.

The DEA will tell you that Kratom is the absolute devil, if you mix it with illegal substances. So is water.

^^ You never saw the Hogan's Heroes episode, where Hogan and the gang convinced Klink heavy water was from the fountain of youth? This was of course to impede Nazi nuclear research.

When I lived in Nova Scotia, Canada there was a heavy water plant just outside of the the little town I lived in (Port Hawkesbury). When you approached the plant where it was manufactured, there were huge billboards with lights along the side of the road that warned "If lights are flashing, turn around immediately evacuate... They had these huge bunson burners surrounding the plant and supposedly they would send whatever could potentially escape from the site up into the atmosphere and dissipate it... I'm not sure if that was a sound plan, but, apparently making heavy water requires some pretty scary science... I always thought it was just H3O... but reading the wikipedia it looks a lot more complex.

Looks like the Glace Bay plant was operational from 1976-1985 only, and closed thereafter due to lack of need.

Most modern reactors use enriched uranium with ordinary water as the moderator.

You guys remember when I was one of the youngest PE members here?
    I'll be 40 in 2 and a half months.

Strangely enough, I remember that 15 cent slice as well.

Another I'm old Moment: I spent the night of a Company Party with a very sweet younger lady and complainted about the Music not being
my thing, as Bryan Adams "Summer of 69" was played she replied "now that's finaly a song about your youth" (I was 2 in 69).
