Football is better when there is fluidity and even though mistakes have happened in the past, there have been mistakes with the current system too. Nothing is improved, and my experience of it this season make me not want to bother with the live arena. Kill the atmosphere and you have killed the TV allure too.
SC - You are probably right about the "killing-the-atmosphere" in the arena.....since I'm only a TV viewer, I don't experience the "mood & atmosphere" of a LIVE game....(wish I could)

    Real Madrid v Manchester City

    Atalanta v Valencia

    Atletico Madrid v Liverpool

    Chelsea v Bayern Munich

    Lyon v Juventus

    Tottenham v RB Leipzig

    Napoli v Barcelona

It is a bit sad to see that the 16 teams left are only from 5 leagues. You can clearly see where the big money is.

    Predictions:

    Borussia Dortmund v Paris St-Germain
Interesting game that could go either way. I would still bet on PSG to go through

    Real Madrid v Manchester City
City! Real is not what it used to be.

    Atalanta v Valencia
    - Valencia. Atalanta can be proud they came this far but this is where it ends.

    Atletico Madrid v Liverpool
Atletico with their defensive counter attack strategy is a bitch to play against. I hope Liverpool will make it. I dislike Atletico.

    Chelsea v Bayern Munich
Bayern is having a shakey season. I say Chelsea but I would not put my money on it.

    Lyon v Juventus
I do not see how Lyon can win this especially with Depay out for the rest of the season. Easy win Juve.

    Tottenham v RB Leipzig
I see a lot of Bundesliga. Leipzig is currently on top of the league with Timo Werner in blistering form. Leipzig!

    Napoli v Barcelona
    Barca.

So is this the year that Liverpool win the Premier League and City win the Champions League?

The Champions League might have been City's priority a few weeks ago, but morale now has to be so low in their camp that you wonder how many more knocks they can take. If Liverpool can avoid injuries to any more key players I think they have at least as good a chance as any of the other 15 teams to pick up the ECL as well.

Still shocked we have Ancelotti at the helm....at our current state of affairs I would've never predicted this! Magpies looking stronger over the past 10 or so minutes. Good match. Festive football!

Can anyone explain how, where or when Pukki was offside for that VAR-nullified goal?

It's a complete nonsense, they'll need to change the rule.

Maybe they could set some hysteresis in the system! Maybe half a meter or so... But then 49cm is not offside and 51cm is offside

I'm not paying ESPN any more than I do now for a few FA Cup games when Newcastle won't get past the first couple of rounds.

If Liverpool still had Mignolet as their keeper it would be 0 - 3 EFC right now. Fuckin Adrian is good.

I am so glad I missed this. Typical Fuckin Everton. Enjoy the point Ian, you certainly deserve it if they can't even seal the deal at 94+ minutes.
