The night before it was announced that he passed away, I was listening to Life Time, Spring and Out To Lunch, and I can't recall the last time I listened to an RVG recording before that.

Creed Taylor was the producer, not the recording engineer.

    Rest in peace, Rudy.
We're trying to build a monument to show that we were here
It won't be visible through the air
And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973

Really? I thought he was dead already. Oh well, he gave us a good long run of incredible recordings.

I admit I thought he was at well. But what an iconic figure in the "sound of jazz" as much as any of the musicians he recorded. I remember in the 90s and early 00s, it was all the rage to get the "RVG edition" of an CD reissue of a classic Blue Note release. Good times. RIP
