Sorry to see him go, but he had a good long life. R.I.P. Toots.

Kind of a niche artist, but a master at what he did.

John Lennon bought his first Rickenbacker guitar after seeing Toots perform in concert.

The first time I remember hearing his name was when he guested on a Billy Joel song called Leave A Tender Moment Alone, which got a fair amount of play on MTV, it was a live version, for which Billy had Toots flown out to play on, and each time the video played on MTV, they included the introduction where Billy introduces him.

But, I suspect, the first time I heard Toots play, was hearing this as a small child:

One of my biggest regrets was not going to see him in a small jazz club about 10 or so years ago knowing this was an opportunity not to be missed.

    RIP Mr Theilmans

Fine kind of tribute Satisfaction Injection (see the latest news-addition) did on their debut-album:

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen footage of Jaco playing piano before. He wasn't bad!

We did “Bluesette” in our college jazz-rock ensemble.
