    James MacGaw benefit record

James MacGaw, the great guitarist of Magma and One Shot, has been struggling with illness for some time. And due to the illness, he is struggling financially. This is a release that he worked on and finished in 2010, but hadn't done a final mix of, but when he got ill, his friends all pitched in and finished for him and that his friends all pitched in to release, with all proceeds going to James.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

I was just seeing Nihao Hamtai the other day and wondering how he was doing, and also pondering on what an essential ingredient he is to the Magma sound of the last decade.
From what I understand he is not only a great musician but a great person too.

There was a recent picture of him visiting with the band at a concert; head shaved bald. His comments about his illness are pretty poignant, and knowing what he has, I can only wish him well. As soon as I get free from work commitments the next 3 days I will place the order with Steve at Wayside.
I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.

James played me most of the album when I visited him in Nantes nearly a year ago. High energy stuff, lots of great musicianship and quite distinct from Magma, One Shot etc. but with some of that vibe hidden underneath... Anyway, good to see it finished. Ordered my copy from Seventh.

As did I. Thanks for pointing this out Ian. I'll be playing a few tracks from this tomorrow night's show, plus other James' work. Hopefully it can help.

Congrats on your first order. Careful it can be habit forming. Steve built his helipad on the north wing of his palatial prog estate directly with revenues from people at this site.
